11-19 Consultation Rawlins, Humphrey Perkins, Limehurst and Woodbrook Vale are working in partnership to explore the possibility of all four schools changing to provide education for pupils aged 11-16 (11-19 at Rawlins). This would mean that, including Thorpe Hill Campus and De Lisle School in Loughborough the secondary education for all students in the area would be at ‘all-through’ schools. The Loughborough Quorn Barrow Partnership is exploring this possible re-structure in order to provide greater continuity and support for all students, particularly those who are vulnerable or need extra help with their studies. Together we are launching a consultation with staff, parents, pupils and the wider community to gain a broad range of views on the idea. The consultation will run from 9 am Wednesday 4 January 2012 until 12 noon on Wednesday 29 February 2012. Further information is available from the website. Callum Orr |

Diamond Jubilee Holiday
In common with other schools, Rawlins provisionally set Friday 1 June as the ‘extra’ one day holiday in celebration of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. However, it has been confirmed that there are a number of GCSE and A level examinations on 1 June meaning that some students and staff will have to be in school on that day.
We have therefore decided to make 1 June a normal working day for all staff and students (the main Jubilee Celebrations are 2 to 5 June). The extra day holiday will now be taken on Friday 13 July and therefore the final day of this academic year will be Thursday 12 July. Callum Orr, Principal
