Disco Inferno - press release
Young Rawlins Stars Prepare Another Scorching Show
Students and staff at Rawlins Media Arts Community College, in Quorn, are putting on another blazing extravaganza in this year’s showpiece performance. A large and accomplished cast of young actors, singers, dancers, artists and technical experts will perform Disco Inferno, an explosion of hit songs, high energy dance routines and glitter-ball spinning action.
Set in London in the hot summer of 1976, Disco Inferno tells the story of Jack, an ambitious and talented hopeful, and his burning desire to make it in the music business at any cost. Working late in a London Nightclub, Disco Inferno, Jack meets Lady Marmalade - a femme fatale and beautiful manifestation of the Devil. Dreaming of becoming successful, Jack strikes a Faustian pact with her, trading his soul to fulfil his wildest fantasies. But will he trade his international success for the love of his girlfriend, Jane?
The show is packed with classic seventies floor fillers for all to enjoy, and culminates in a glo stick party on the final night. Rehearsals are shaping up well and the performance, not to mention the hairstyles, should not be missed.
Performances at the Rawlins Theatre are between Tuesday 9 and Friday 12 February 2010 from 7.30pm Tickets are on sale online at www.rawlinscollege.org.uk.
