Year 8/9 Dry Point prints
Dry Point print on paper and fabric
The design is scratched into the surface of a Perspex sheet with a scribing tool and then covered with printing ink; any excess is rubbed away with a soft cloth. Paper is soaked in water and blotted until damp and then laid on top of the inked Perspex. Both Perspex and accompanying paper are then placed between sheets of printing cloth and put through the printing press. Pressure is exerted onto the paper and the Perspex; the press is released and the paper absorbs the ink to form the print.
